National politicians want to amend the law so that municipalities can take action more easily against laughing gas. But the mayor of Amersfoort Lucas Bolsius does not want to wait for that and is therefore taking measures himself with a tailor-made nitrous oxide ban in his municipality. “The use of laughing gas leads to nuisance, dangerous situations in traffic and, if used intensively, leads to serious permanent damage to the brains of users.”
