Several young people have indicated that they have bought alcohol themselves in cafes in the center of Amersfoort. “Emergency services have their hands full every weekend with young people with far too much alcohol in their bodies,” says mayor Lucas Bolsius. According to the mayor, local residents, parents and other public are rightly concerned about this trend. “Cafés that do not check age when serving alcohol are actively contributing to those problems.”
