AMD provided information on the Radeon RX 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7700 XT announcement, as well as FSR 3 and other updates.

AMD today announced new graphics cards AMD Radeon™ RX 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7700 XT at Gamescom. New graphics cards; Optimized to deliver incredible high-performance, high-refresh 1440p gaming experiences for demanding AAA and esports games today and tomorrow. AMD also announced AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 3, the new version of its popular upscaling technology designed to deliver massive performance gains in supported games.

Radeon RX 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics cards announced

Built on the groundbreaking AMD RDNA™ 3 architecture, the new graphics cards offer fully immersive 1440p gaming at 60+ FPS and state-of-the-art hardware and software features designed to deliver significantly better performance in certain titles than the competition.

AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics cards also offer 16GB and 12GB of high-speed GDDR6 VRAM respectively, and up to 50% higher memory bandwidth than their competitors for high-resolution games. They also support advanced features that take performance and visual fidelity to the next level, including brand new AMD HYPR-RX technology.

1440p Powers the Future of Gaming

The AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card, the ultimate graphics card for 1440p games, features 60 AMD RDNA 3 unified processing units and offers an average of 20% more performance than its competitors. The AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics card with 54 AMD RDNA 3 processing units also offers an average of 20% more performance at 1440p compared to its competitors. Both graphics cards offer an excellent upgrade option for gamers using older cards. The main features of the cards are as follows;

  • AMD RDNA 3 Architecture – Redesigned processing units with unified ray tracing and AI accelerators, second generation AMD Infinity Cache™ technology, and second generation ray tracing technology.
  • Custom AI Acceleration – New AI accelerators are optimized for the latest AI workloads. New AI instructions and increased AI throughput deliver an average of 2X the performance of AMD RDNA 2 architecture.
  • Enhanced Broadcast Quality and Performance – Enhanced AMD encoders deliver enhanced visual quality during broadcast and recording. AMD Artificial Intelligence and content adaptive machine learning technology are also integrated into the AMD Media Framework, resulting in sharper text when broadcasting at low bitrates and resolutions.
  • Ultra High Definition Encoding – An encode/decode media engine for ultimate performance that unlocks new multimedia experiences with full AV1 encode/decode support, wide color gamut and high dynamic range enhancements.

AMD announces new Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards

AMD also announced the availability of AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3, the next generation AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) temporal amplification technology. AMD FSR 3 features frame rendering that dramatically increases FPS by leveraging AMD Fluid Motion Frames technology and game motion vector data. AMD FSR 3 is designed to deliver massive performance boosts with incredible image quality in games supported on a wide range of products and platforms, including competitive products and game consoles.

AMD FSR 3’s Square Enix’s Forspoken and Ascendant Studios and Electronic Arts Inc. Developed by Immortals of Aveum, it is expected to come to the games at the beginning of autumn and to support 10 more games in the coming months. New Software Features for Next-Gen Gaming

The latest release of AMD Software: Adrenaline Edition™ brings new performance and feature enhancements to enable ultimate gaming experiences. Expected to be available on September 6, 2023, this new release includes AMD HYPR-RX technology, which facilitates and manages the simultaneous interoperability of AMD Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), AMD Radeon Anti-Lag, and AMD Radeon Boost technologies.

AMD HYPR-RX includes the new AMD Radeon Anti-Lag+ technology, which allows users to minimize input lag and takes the responsive gaming experience to the next level by offering Anti-Lag on a per game profile basis.

AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics cards will be available from leading card partners starting September 6th. AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics cards will also be available from AMD.com starting September 6th.
