With the certificationGesap renews its commitment in favor of business sustainability and environmental protection, an important milestone that is part of the broader plan of activities in progress, aimed at reducing the environmental impact of airport management and in particular at neutrality in terms of carbon dioxide emissions as foreseen under the program Aci airport carbon accreditation (Aca), which Gesap joined in 2019. But it is also a step towards achieving “Net Zero by 2050”, the elimination of harmful emissions by 2050.
From a practical point of view, the ISO 50001: 2018 will allow to optimize the benefits deriving from interventions infrastructural in progress contained in Gesap’s investment plan – in particular with reference to projects relating to installations photovoltaic (partly already built), the new 400 hz system for the power supply of aircraft, the new Bhs system, the replacement of the company car fleet with electric vehicles, mobility management – also thanks to the creation of special regulation and monitoring systems of energy consumption.
