Amber Heard’s appeal against court ruling in Johnny Depp’s compensation case dismissed

Amber Heards appeal against court ruling in Johnny Depps compensation

Heard’s lawyers basically cited the misidentification of a juror as the reason for their request.

Judge Penney Azcarate, who rejected the application, stated that the allegations about the identity of the juror were not related to the case, and that the claim that the jury was biased could not be proven by Heard.

Johnny Depp won a defamation lawsuit 6 weeks ago over Heard’s 2018 article in the Washington Post, in which he wrote about domestic violence allegations.

In the case, which was heard in the US state of Virginia, the court ordered Heard to pay 10 million 350 thousand dollars to Depp.

As a justification for its decision, the court stated that Heard’s allegations about his marriage to Deep were “false” and “slanderous”, and stated that Heard’s actions were “malicious”.

Heard counterclaimed $100 million, but the court awarded Heard only $2 million in damages.

Speaking to NBC Television after the verdict, Heard said, “You can’t say that this case was reported fairly on social media. You can’t tell me that.”

The couple married in 2015 and divorced 2 years later.
