In the court case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard came now new details about her heavily abridged Aquaman 2 role to the light. Allegedly, Mera spends most of the DC sequel in the hospital. She was also deliberately excluded from promotional appearances such as at the DC FanDome 2021.
Warners DC boss Walter Hamada has now testified in court. Apparently Heard should first completely excluded from Aquaman 2 be, which has nothing to do with Johnny Depp.

Amber Heard almost wasn’t supposed to return for Aquaman 2 due to lack of chemistry
As the Hollywood Reporter reported on Tuesday’s trial, DC boss Walter Hamada spoke in court about the lack of chemistry between Amber Heard and Jason Momoa in Aquaman:
They didn’t have much chemistry together. The reality is that it’s not uncommon for films to have no chemistry between two leads, and it’s a kind of film magic and editing – the ability to infuse performances with the magic of great scoring and how you put the pieces together is how that chemistry can be created. At the end of the day when you watch the film it looks like they have great chemistry. But all I know is that it went through post-production took a lot of effort has to get there. Sometimes you just bring characters together in front of the camera and it works. It’s like what makes a movie star a movie star. You know it when you see it. The chemistry wasn’t there… It was more difficult because there was a lack of chemistry between the two.
According to The Wrap, Hollywood consultant Kathryn Arnold spoke in court Monday about Heard’s management fighting hard to get the actress back for Aquaman 2. In the end, director James Wan and leading actor Jason Momoa personally stood up for themleading to the (ultimately nonetheless extremely abridged) return of Mera in the upcoming DC blockbuster.
Aquaman 2 starts in Germany on March 16, 2023 in the cinemas.
