The first fortress battle took place in Throne and Liberty. The development team has now published a video that summarizes the event. It shows what players in Europe can look forward to when the MMORPG finally appears in the West.
What are the Fortress Battles?
How many players took part? Although the MMORPG is currently only available in South Korea, over 15,000 players have participated. The NCSoft development team counts all 10 servers together. A total of 1,540 guilds took part in the mass battle.
In a YouTube video, the team shows how the mass battle took place. The video is in Korean, but from the moving images you can see how smoothly the MMORPG ran despite the many players:
Fortress battle ended differently on the servers
How did the fortress battles go? The gigantic battles had different outcomes on the different servers. For example, on one server there were 15 attempts to take the castle, so the three days turned into a bitter battle.
Depending on which strategy the guilds used, there were different battles. The four different golems that players can transform into contributed to this. There were also fierce battles for a central respawn point, which was crucial for the capture of the castle. For example, some teams tried to put pressure on the respawn point to capture it.
How was the fortress battle received by players? In the comments section of the YouTube video, there are many users who have great praise for the fortress battle. They think the event was fun and hope NCSoft keeps the events going.
Even those who lost the siege battle would have had fun. The comments give hope that the battles will also be well received in Europe. So far, Throne and Liberty is only available in South Korea. A release in the West is planned for 2024.
At the start of the MMORPG, players requested a feature that the development team actually deleted based on feedback on the beta. This is the autoplay function, which is now missed by many players: The MMORPG Throne and Liberty has started and the players want the most controversial feature from the beta back
