Amazon’s major fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will continue the Middle-earth battle against Sauron later this year. However, the second season has to make do without an actor who has become a fan favorite. The role of the orc leader Adar was recast months ago for season 2: Sam Hazeldinethe Joseph Mawle replaces, is said to be even scarier in the new episodes.
Dark Elves Return: New Adar with terrifying Lord of the Rings appearance on Amazon Prime
The corrupted Moriondor elf Adar stood out as one of the biggest antagonists in the first season in the cast of the Lord of the Rings series on Amazon Prime *. With his orcs he unleashed the Mordor catastrophe in episode 6 and recommended himself as an exciting antagonist figure who not only fights the “good guys” but also the villain Sauron. Despite his praised performance, Joseph Mawle resigned before season 2 for unclear reasons and made way for his successor Sam Hazeldine.
The Tolkien fan site Fellowship of Fans, known for its mostly reliable leaks, now claims to have found out that the facial prosthetics, i.e. the mask applied with additional elements, is the Character Adar in season 2 still “more frightening” will do. In addition, the transition between the old and new actor – at least on a visual level – should be made easier by the prostheses, because at first glance there won’t be much of a difference between them.

Season 2 of Amazon’s The Rings of Power gets much darker
Here and there, those involved in the Amazon series have repeatedly dropped ominous hints in recent months. The twist-filled season 2 should “dirtier and harder” become. Galadriel actress Morfydd Clark hinted that many new Lord of the Rings villains await us.

Amazon has not yet announced an official start date for Season 2 of The Rings of Power. However, the return to Prime in 2024 is certain, probably in Fall this year.
