Amazon’s LOL XMAS special is actually a 90-minute trailer for a completely different series (and that’s a good thing)

The festive Christmas special of Amazon’s LOL: Last One Laughing comes with a few changes, but little has changed in the process. With less running time and couple groupings, very funny or completely crazy gags are presented as usual in order to attack the funny muscles of the comedy stars (and therefore ours) as mercilessly as possible.

In the three new episodes This time a comedy duo is conspicuously in the foreground. The timing could hardly be better, as the two of them will be releasing a joint series on Amazon in 2024. The marketing for this is perfect.

Anke Engelke and Bastian Pastewka are the clear highlight of the LOL Christmas special

The past LOL seasons have already proven that Bastian Pastewka and Anke Engelke are a brilliant match when it comes to humor. Since Sat.1’s cult weekly show in the 90s, the duo has now used the Amazon show perfectly to… pure comedy nostalgia to ignite. A short hit interlude from the strange duo Wolfgang and Anneliese is enough.

In the LOL Christmas special, Pastewka and Engelke can now be seen with the largest share of gags of all the participating comedy stars. Whether they do an absurdly funny twist on the Lord’s Prayer at Christmas dinner, perform a Spanish dance and singing number or play through an ingenious Ruck Zuck variation in which they slip into all the roles of the candidates.

The comedy duo is in top form in the LOL XMAS special outshines all other stars. The fact that they win in the end is just the icing on the cake.

LOL XMAS special increases anticipation for the upcoming Amazon series with Bastian Pastewka & Anke Engelke

The special edition of the Amazon hit is coming like a 90 minute trailer for the upcoming series by Pastewka and Engelke. Never Ever will appear on Amazon Prime in 2024. In it, the duo plays two small townspeople in a life crisis. According to Amazon, the eight episodes, each 30 minutes long, will revolve around regulations and coincidences, revenge and forgiveness, friendships and tantrums, as well as illegal parking and cat patches.
