Lord of the Rings Question on Dwarf Women: Do they have beards or not?
It has long been known that dwarf women will play a larger role in Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series. In Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, we didn’t get to see midgets. In The Hobbit at least a few of the subterranean wives flitted through the frame. In The Rings of Power we now learn the with Sophia Nomvete Dwarf Princess Disa know as the first true representative of her fleeting nature.

What Lord of the Rings fans have been doing for a long time: Aragorn, Eowyn and Gimli discussed in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Facial hair of midget women. The actually completely unimportant, but somehow nagging question that has been asked since then was: Does the female part of Durin’s people (or all dwarf peoples) in Middle-earth mythology have a beard or not?
At Comic-Con in San Diego, Executive Producer Lindsey Weber gave a clear answer. Because she obviously has one in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Appears as a bearded dwarf woman.

From three important midgets in the Cast of the Lord of the Rings series we already know: Peter Mullan plays the in a smaller role Dwarf King Durin III. and Owain Arthur plays his successor
Durin IV. the Dwarf princess at Durin IV’s side, Disais set in the subterranean kingdom of Khazad-dûm (including vocals) by Sophia Nomvete embodied. In the first glimpses of the series trailers, posters and pictures, however, she was seen without a single beard hair on her smooth chin.
That probably means that Dwarf women can grow beards, but don’t have to. Or do they shave? All questions about this are probably still not finally answered…
