But apparently streaming numbers: At least that’s what it looks like with the action new edition Road House, in which the star as a hardened bouncer sorts a gang of criminals according to tooth size. The remake is with 50 million views Amazon Prime’s most successful original film.
Road House on Amazon Prime: What does the success of the action remake mean?
As the Hollywood Reporter reports based on an Amazon press release, the Road House remake has been viewed 50 million times by Prime customers. This means that the blockbuster “biggest global film release [eines Amazon-Originals] any times”according to the streaming service. But what does that mean?

How exactly does a “View“composed, Amazon doesn’t reveal. Accordingly, it is not clear whether the film was actually seen 50 million times in its entirety or whether a portion of 10 minutes had already been consumed as “View” counts. With competitors like Disney+, the total length of the film is divided by the total number of viewers.
Still, it’s for Road House to assume an extraordinary success, as Amazon Prime only publishes the figures for its originals in exceptional cases. The Road House debut with Patrick Swayze was also considered a success at the time, according to the LA Times, thanks in particular to profitable TV ratings.
