Amazon launches huge universe after the end of its longest streak and even original stars are coming back for it

Amazon launches huge universe after the end of its longest

The crime series Bosch was a fixture for the streaming service Prime Video* between 2014 and 2021. With its 7 seasons, it is the longest Amazon original series to date. Just last year, Bosch received a spin-off on the free Amazon service Freevee*:
BoschLegacy, which is getting a 2nd season soon. But Amazon has even bigger plans, namely a whole one Universe of Bosch series.

Bosch offshoots are adding more series to the crime landscape at Amazon

As Variety reports, are 2 new Bosch series planned and will once again focus on characters from the original books* by Michael Connelly. These are the following series:

  • 1. A Bosch spin-off on Jerry Edgar, for which Jamie Hector, known from 7 Bosch seasons, is to take over his role again. The series takes Bosch’s ex-partner on an FBI undercover mission to Little Haiti, Miami, where he must reconcile his new life in the underworld with his mysterious past.
  • 2. A Bosch series on Renee Ballard, which so far may only be known to book connoisseurs, introduces the investigator as the new head of the LAPD’s unsolved cases department. It should give the police more credibility again. Bosch was her mentor, but she’s running the investigation her own way.
  • Bosch Legacy – S01 Trailer (English) HD

Amazon’s parent series Bosch focuses on Hieronymus “Harry” Bosch, played by Titus Welliver. He works as a cop for the LAPD and also had a difficult past as a war veteran. As a police investigator, he mainly deals with murder and robbery cases.

Whole universes of popular series are in vogue: This week, for example, 3 new series for Dexter were announced. When exactly the new Bosch series will come to Amazon Prime (or Freevee) is not yet known, but probably at the earliest 2024.
