Amanda Lind new female spokesperson for the Green Party

Now it’s finished.
Amanda Lind has been chosen as the new female spokesperson for the Green Party.
– I want us to be a counter force to selfishness, mistrust and hopelessness, she says in her speech.

The former culture minister was tipped as a favorite right from the start and was the selection committee’s choice with the justification that she has “deep roots in the green movement” and can “build together city and country”.

– I want us to be a counter force to selfishness, mistrust and hopelessness. We must show that there is a future where values such as solidarity, community and equality are embedded in the heart of society, she says in a speech.

Was the only candidate left

The party’s economic policy spokesperson Janine Alm Ericson and Riksdag member Annika Hirvonen dropped out and Amanda Lind was then the only remaining candidate.

Now she will lead the party together with Daniel Helldén.

– I see that we have to get better at showing how our society on the other side of climate change becomes a better society to live in. We must not get stuck in the description of the problem, we have to get better at showing our visions. The green and fair transition is the great social transformation of our time – and we are the ones who must lead it, says Amanda Lind.
