Jurassic Park is one of the best blockbusters in film history and has since been expanded into a franchise. Most recently, the Jurassic World trilogy conquered the big screen. Unfortunately with one not entirely satisfactory result. The third part in particular was a patchwork of half-baked ideas.
It shouldn’t be that difficult to capture the charms of the original with today’s cinematic storytelling options. For the next gripping Jurassic Park story, we have to turn our attention to the gaming world. Because a really exciting title was just announced there: Jurassic Park: Survival.

The video game from Saber catapults us back in time 30 years and follows directly on from the events of the first part. While Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and Co. can escape from the island, we find ourselves in the shoes of InGen scientists Dr. Maya Joshi again, who is stuck in the dinosaur park.

Even more than Forgotten World: Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park: Survival is a direct sequel to Steven Spielberg’s 1993 masterpiece. The trailer brings many familiar locations and images back from the film. Even Alan’s hat and a re-enactment of the kitchen scene made it into the preview.
The announcement of the single-player adventure in Jurassic Park is met with a lot of love on the Internet. On the social media platform X, a fan of the series writes visibly enthusiastically:

In Jurassic Park: Survival we have to deal with dinosaurs en masse and can move around the entire island. So there is much more to discover than the places known from the film. The game also requires a lot of skill and inventiveness in order not to be eaten by the hungry prehistoric monsters.

A specific release date is not yet clear. We are only at the beginning of the marketing campaign. After the reveal trailer, a gameplay trailer will likely be released next, showing us more of the actual game. Jurassic World: Survival is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
