It is undoubtedly one of the best known diseases today in France. Already because it affects about a million people in our country, and it therefore affects many families. But also because it is very represented in films, literature, or in the theater.
You will understand, it is Alzheimer’s. If it concerns almost 15 % of French people over 80 years old, this disease was only officially appointed and recognized in the late 1970s.
At the end of the 20th century, it spread more and more in the world. Our policies then seize the subject. And it was not until 2001 that the first “Alzheimer’s” plan was launched.
Since then, the different “plans” have followed one another. However, in politics, as in the field of research, the fight against this neuro-degenerative disease is far from over. But hope perhaps lies in a new approach: to focus on prevention.
