Telephone scams are a growing problem in society. A common approach is for the fraudster to call the victim and pretend to be from a company. The victim is then tricked into giving the code to their BankID, or into swishing a large amount of money.
In order to put an end to crime, Sweden’s banks will implement a series of changes to make it safer to do banking online.
Going forward, it will therefore be possible, among other things, to introduce time delays for transactions made online or with Swish.

The most important thing to remember to avoid being scammed is to never give the code to your BankID to anyone else.
But there is also another simple trick available to increase security, and that is to always use QR codes when available.

For example, if you want to log in to your bank via your computer, a QR code will appear on the screen.
Scanning the QR code means extra protection because it guarantees that you and your computer are in the same place.
It also prevents fraudsters from tricking you into logging into a site you don’t see.
