Altrecht uses VR glasses in therapy: ‘You dare a little more in a virtual environment’

Altrecht uses VR glasses in therapy You dare a little

“This therapy is intended for people who have a lot of difficulty walking on the street or taking public transport. They can overcome their fears with it,” says Tonnie Staring, clinical psychologist at Altrecht. “Those people find it too scary to practice this in real life, so it won’t happen. In that virtual environment they dare to do it faster, and the patients know it’s not real, so they dare a little more . But even if it’s not real, it does work.”
