See when Kristoffer Jakobsen talks about the happiness of becoming a father in the video player above.
For 30-year-old Kristoffer Jakobsen, there have been some very special days. On Thursday, he and his partner Erica became parents for the first time.
Five days later, he was part of the Swedish team-together with Sara Hector, Estelle Alphand and Fabian Ax Swartz-who took the World Cup bronze in the team competition in parallel lake slalom.
– It has been perfect timing, absolutely brutally good. That I could go home right after Schladming (the last World Cup competition before the World Cup) and become a father. And then be able to time it with going here and taking a World Cup medal. It’s absolutely fantastic, says Jakobsen.
He was also part of the Swedish team that took silver in the team competition in the World Cup 2021. Now it became another team medal.
– I’m so happy that I could join the team. I have always had the goal to be able to participate, but it has been a bit on ice this competition. I have not been quite sure that I could participate. But it was fun, says Jakobsen.
Already drum cat’s last World Cup
In the last World Cup, 2023, Sweden did not take a single medal. Jakobsen describes it as fantastic to now start with a medal right away.
– Everyone fought and did something for the team. From the morning we have had a fantastic atmosphere and a damn move in the team. So it was extremely fun to compete with this team today (read, yesterday), he says.
Alpina World Cup in Saalbach continues with the women’s super-G on Thursday.
