Saturday offered the World Cup premiere in slalom in Levi, Finland. But the Swedish success did not materialize.
After the first run, Anna Swenn-Larsson was in sixth place and had a shot at a podium place.
The 33-year-old did indeed climb and was briefly in the leader’s seat, but had to see himself pinned down and finally landed in fourth place, 1.28 seconds behind the winner.
– I am super satisfied, you must never be dissatisfied if you are top 5 in the world, says Swenn-Larsson to SVT Sport.
And fastest was superstar Mikaela Shiffrin with World Cup victory number 98, number eight in Levi.
– She is absolutely fantastic, it’s just a matter of watching and learning and giving her a match here in the future.
Sara Hector had a tougher day at work, sliding after the second run from ninth all the way down to 19th.
Cornelia Öhlund, place 17, and Hanna Elfman Aronsson, place 14 were the other best Swedes.
