Alpine: Mikaela Shiffrins missed the chance to take the 100th victory – Sara Hector won

– I am so extremely happy, I doubted myself at the beginning of the season. I’m so proud, fantastic, says Sara Hector after the competition.

It was set up for Mikaela Shiffrin to reach the mighty milestone of 100 World Cup victories, but the American drove shakily and lost immediately.

A bit into the slope, Shiffrin then overturned and the audience held their breath. Shiffrin has been down for over 15 minutes and the award ceremony has been postponed. After just over 20 minutes, Shiffrin was wheeled down to the goal line on a stretcher.

– It’s really sad to see Mikeala’s crash, it breaks my heart. But she is one of the strongest riders, she continues.

The victory makes Sara Hector rise to the top of the giant slalom cup. The victory was her sixth overall in the World Cup.

– Sara in great form is a powerhouse, says Viaplay’s expert Jessica Lindell Vikarby.
