The last time a Swede won the overall World Cup was in 2005 when Anja Pärson took home the title. 20 years later, Sara Hector has the chance to repeat the feat, but she herself believes that the chances are small.
– I ride too few branches to take the total, I think. But then of course I’m very happy to lead right now, says Sara Hector to SVT Sport.
After Saturday’s giant slalom victory in Kranjska Gora, the Swede leads the giant slalom cup by far with 296 points. Behind her is the Italian Federica Brignone on 200 points.
In the overall World Cup, Hector has taken 407 points, leading by 24 points ahead of Camille Rast of Switzerland.
