Almost a thousand unnecessary deaths due to too long waiting

According to the NSVHA, an important cause of this is staff shortages in care, NOS writes. Not only at the A&E itself, but also at the general practitioner, in community care and in nursing wards. For example, if people are unable to see their GP in the evenings, they often end up unnecessarily in the emergency room later on. According to the NSVHA, the number of training places for A&E doctors should therefore be doubled.
