The police tracked down the three when the Leerdammer was arrested near Vianen in September 2020, because he tore over the A2 at 220 km per hour in a rented luxury Mercedes with German registration. Since he did not have a valid driver’s license and his passenger had no ID, the police searched the car. The co-driver had hidden a bottle of GHB in his clothing. A batch of pills was hidden in the so-called ski hatch of the car.
