Alleged bike thief arrested

Thefts under investigation by Chatham Kent police

Chatham-Kent police responded Friday morning to an alleged break-in and theft of a bicycle on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.

Through investigation, police were able to determine a suspect.

A short time later, police located the man and arrested him. Police said he also had a warrant for his arrest.

The 28-year-old Chatham man was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and taken to police headquarters. He was lodged and released with a short date.

Power tools stolen

Sometime overnight on Friday, unknown suspects entered a construction trailer in Chatham and removed several power tools valued at approximately $3,500, police said.

warrant arrest

Early Saturday in Wallaceburg, police located a man who had a warrant for his arrest.

The 44-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and released with a court date.
