Allan Widman’s appointment as governor and head of the Kalmar county administrative board applies from and including May 1, 2023 to and including April 30, 2029, the county administrative board writes in a press release.
– It really feels like I’m coming home to Småland and Öland where I have my roots. Kalmar and Västervik are Sweden’s best and most summer cities, so think about moving here now during the month of May, says Allan Widman.
Allan Widman was born in 1964 and was a Member of Parliament 2002–2022. He was chairman of the EU committee 2012–2014, the defense committee 2014–2018 and the combined foreign affairs and defense committee 2015.
He has also been a defense policy spokesperson for the Liberals and the party’s group leader in Malmö municipality. Widman is a lawyer by profession and a former reserve captain in the artillery.
