The premiere takes place at Folkets hus in Hissmofors on Saturday. Hometown for Allan Edwall and many believe that it was right here in Folkets hus that the foundation for Allan Edwall’s acting was laid.
– I’ve been thinking about coming here and playing, and now I get to do it. It’s nice, it feels kind of reverent, says Andreas Liljeholm, who portrays Allan Edwall as a young man.
In the play, the audience can follow Allan from his dream of standing on the big stages to his creating his own theater on Brunnsgatan in Stockholm, where he takes turns and explores the possibilities a theater stage can provide.
One hundred years since Allan Edwall was born
For those who happen to be unfamiliar with Allan Edwall, perhaps the token will fall if you remember the gory line EEEEEMIIIL! from the father in Emil in Lönneberga. But it is only one of many prominent roles Hissmoforssonen has become known for.
It is Estrad Norr who, in collaboration with Dalateatern, is behind ALLAN, just in time for what would have been the year he would have turned 100 if he had lived.
