What exactly does that do?
After the upgrade, you just have to make sure that you start the correct game version on the PS5. Otherwise you will continue to play the old PS4 version.
What do you have to consider when upgrading from PS4 to PS5? Basically, you don’t necessarily have to upgrade to the better version if you don’t want to download a big game.
If you upgrade, you usually get the PS4 version on top of that. That means you can still play the game on your PS4.
If you previously played the PS4 version and are now switching to the PS5 version, you often have to start the games from the beginning because saves are not always compatible on the PS5.
You can also upgrade PS4 games on disc to a digital PS5 version, but you still need your PS4 disc. You will then not be able to play these games on a PS5 Digital Edition.
Is the update to the PlayStation 5 version free? Sony leaves it up to the developers whether they offer the upgrade for their games for free or for a fee. Some developers only offer the upgrade to the PS5 in a more expensive edition.

What happens when you upgrade with additional content such as a soundtrack or art book? All additional content will remain with you and you can also use it after upgrading to the PS5 version. Once you have the game installed, go to the game library on your PS5, select the game and then press X. You will then see all of your content.
