All set for the G7 Work in Cagliari. Calderone: the goal is to ensure quality of work

(Finance) – We are on the eve of the G7 Labour and Employment which will take place in Cagliari from tomorrow until September 13th. The Minister of Labor and Social Policies, Navy Cauldronwill welcome the Ministers of Labour and Employment of Italy, Canada, France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan. They will also be joined by the European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, the Director-General of the ILO, the Director for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs of the OECD and representatives of Business 7 and Labour 7, as well as representatives of Civil 7, Women 7 and Youth 7.

Three i themes main which will be touched upon during the meeting and as the Ministry of Labour itself underlined, “require a supranational approach”: a human-centric development and use of artificial intelligence in the world of work, resilient labour markets in ageing societies and responsive, flexible and inclusive skills, lifelong learning policies and systems.

Accepting the invitation of the G7 leaders in the Final Declaration of the Borgo Egnazia Summit, the G7 Ministers for Labour and Employment will approve a G7 Action Plan for theHuman-centric adoption of safe AIprotected and trusted in the world of work. They will also agree on policy principles for a resilient world of work in ageing societies and an Action Plan to improve working conditions in the care sector.

“The core of the G7 Labour that will open tomorrow in Cagliari will be the reflections on which societies to build with the aim of quality of work. I support the call for social dialogue and discussion, I place it as a condition for all the requests and reflections of these days”, declared the Minister of Labour and Social Policies, Marina Calderone, in her speech at the Summit L7 in Cagliari. “We need to structure a world of work that can fully respond to the needs of a changing society, which is undergoing profound transformations as a result of the demands linked to innovation, digital and ecological transitionto the way of relating to work and to the expectations of our young people”, added Calderone.

“The choice must be that of a Work fair, decent and that can meet the needs of different generations: an inclusive labor market, which also restores widespread well-being for sustainable growth of our societies – he then explained -. We will delve into the themes of the impact of AI on the world of work, of skills as a common thread to develop inclusive work paths, and of the aging of population And aging activewhich means allowing everyone to work satisfactorily, and to be able to choose when to end their working activity but to be able to continue an active life even afterwards”.

The G7 work and employment “is at the crossroads of epochal, economic and political changes – underlined the leader of the Cisl, Luigi Baralso present at the L7 union summit –. From the greats of the Earth we expect visions, strategies for growth and development that ensure true cooperation. We expect clear words on the themes of freedom and peace, also an explicit recognition of the role and function of the social parties.
