Finally, collectors in Pokémon TCG Pocket can exchange their double cards. Meinmmo tells you what you need to know about swapping.
Update from January 29, 2025 at 11:50 a.m. The number of exchange brands was added.
Why should you exchange? With swapping, collectors can complete their collections of cards by handing over cards that they have twice in their collection. For example, you can get cards that you need for your deck and for which you do not yet have the necessary number of packing points together.
When can you exchange? The exchange function has been available since January 29, 2025.

All rules for an overview
What are the rules? The exchange function is now available in Pokémon TCG Pocket. The following rules apply to the cards that you want to exchange:
You need these currencies to exchange
What do you need to exchange? In order to be able to carry out an exchange, you use a exchange endurance and exchange brands. The necessary number of exchange brands increases with the rarity level of the cards that you want to exchange.
So you need the number of exchange brands for the following rarities:
In order to get to exchange brands, you have to take part in events or swap Pokémon cards that you have twice. You can do that via the menu. Click on the card that you have twice, go to items and select the brands. Note that you can only exchange double cards from a rarity of ♢♢♢ for the exchange brands.
The following number of exchange brands will receive per exchanged card:
As you also know it from the miracle election endurance, the exchange endurance has a maximum of 5 and fills up over time. You need endurance per exchange.
In addition, a new type of hourglass was introduced with the appearance of the exchange function: the exchange sand clocks. These are also used, similar to the miracle election, to restore exchange endurance.
Swap function limits many collectors
What is the problem? With the strict rules, it is impossible for many players to get to all cards and complete their collection. The cards with the highest rarity that cannot be exchanged have the lowest chance of being pulled out of a pack. Accordingly, not all collectors are likely to have the coveted cards.
Furthermore, the promo cards cannot be exchanged. These are special cards that are distributed via events or the premium pass. They do not have any rarity and cannot be pulled out of the boosters.
If you don’t want to invest money in Pokémon TCG Pocket, started later with the game or missed an event, you cannot collect all the cards.
This becomes a problem, especially if you already have double cards, but cannot exchange them for gaps in your own collection.
However, The Pokémon Company has made it clear that the function should be expanded over time. Perhaps after a few weeks, rarer cards will be approved for the exchange. However, this remains to be seen.
The required exchange brands are also perceived as too cost-intensive. Because the cards that can be exchanged must now be exchanged for the brands and only provide a fraction of the required costs.
