A turnaround in the situation for retirees who will have an increase in their income in a few weeks.
This is the unexpected good news of the day! While they were expected to suffer from budgetary restrictions, retirees will finally see their basic pension increase from 1er next January. Initially, it was decided that all the elders would not receive a cent more during the new year. But after many rants and negotiations, the copy was finally revised.
In a little over a month, 15 million people will see their incomes be slightly higher than before. Slightly, because the revaluation will not be Byzantium either. At least, initially, because a second increase is already planned in the months that follow. In any case, this is what the first revealed outlines suggest.
An increase in basic retirement pensions of 0.9% was in fact announced in January. The exact figure must be specified by the end of the year, but it will be in this order of magnitude. This increase only affects the pension paid by the Retirement and Occupational Health Insurance Fund and concerns all retirees, regardless of their level of income.
This is the pension paid on the 9th of each month, entitled as follows: “Transfer from Carsat – Reason: Retirement insurance”. It is this amount that will increase, whether it is the direct pension or the survivor’s pension: both will be increasing.
For basic pensions amounting to 600 to 1000 euros, this will represent an increase of 5.40€ to 9 euros per month. For a basic pension of 1500 euros, this will increase to 1513.50 euros. Not really enough to fill the wallet, even if another piece of good news has been made official.
In July 2025, all retirees who receive less than €1,426.30 net basic pension will benefit from a new increase. Its level has, at this stage, however, not yet been specified, even if it should be around 1%. Nearly 7 million French people should be affected.
