All permanent buffs and where to find them

In Path of Exile 2 you can kill additional bosses to receive permanent buffs. We’ll show you where you can find them and what buffs are available.

What kind of buffs are these? There are various optional bosses in Path of Exile 2’s campaign that you can take down. Some of them give you permanent buffs for your character. Below you will find a list of all the buffs you can receive.

Path of Exile 2: List of all permanent buffs

  • +10% Chaos Resistance
  • +8% Increased Maximum Health
  • +24 weapon set skill points
  • +30% Increased Amulet Charges
  • +5 to all attributes
  • Choose 1 (choice cannot be changed):
  • 25% Increased Stun Threshold
  • 30% Increased threshold for elemental effects
  • 25% Increased Mana Regen
  • +20 Maximum Health
  • +15% mana recovery from flasks
  • +15% Reduced effectiveness of slow debuffs
  • +20% All Resistances (Lightning resistance buff is easy to miss)
  • +100 Will
  • Choose 1 (Choice can be changed, buff is granted twice):
  • +30% Increased Amulet Charges
  • +15% mana recovery from flasks

    Finding bosses with buffs is how it works

    To find the bosses in the game that have buffs, all you have to do is take a close look at the in-game map. All bosses that grant a buff have a small plus sign next to their skull on the map. If the skull is grayed out, you have already defeated the boss.

    The maps in Path of Exile 2 are randomly generated. So your Act 1 map will look a little different. However, the symbols are always the same:

  • Skull = Boss in the area
  • Skull with Plus = Boss in the area that grants a permanent buff
  • Crate = Valuable crate on the map
  • Other symbols = side quest

    • This also applies to the underground map, which you can toggle on the right side of the screen.

    Because the bosses in Early Access appear once in normal mode and once in Cruel mode, they usually grant the specified buff twice. For bosses with different buffs, we have specified both buffs.

    Clearfell – Beira of The Rotten Pack

  • Buff: +10% cold resistance
  • How? Kill optional boss.

    • Hunting Grounds – Crowbell

  • Buff: +2 weapon set passive points
  • How? Kill optional boss.

    • Freythorn – The King in the Mists

  • Buff: +30 Will
  • How? Kill optional boss (rituals must be completed beforehand to summon the boss)

    • Ogham Farmlands – Una’s Hut

  • Buff: +2 weapon set passive points
  • How? Bring Una back her lute.

    • Ogham Manor – Candlemass, The Living Right

    Normal difficulty:

  • Buff: +20 maximum health
  • How? Kill optional boss.

    • Cruel Difficulty Level:

  • Buff: +8% increased maximum health
  • How? Kill optional boss.

    All buffs in Act 2 and Act 5

    Keth – Kabala, Constrictor Queen

  • Buff: +2 weapon set passive points
  • How? Kill optional boss.

    • Valley of the Titans

    Buff: Choose 1 (Choice can be changed by revisiting the location)

  • +30% increased Charm Charges
  • +15% increased mana recovery from flasks

    • How? The location is right next to the waypoint. Use 2 relics:

  • Kabala Clan Relic (from monsters in Keth)
  • Sun Clan Relic (from monsters in The Bone Pits)

    • Deshar – Final Letter

  • Buff: +2 weapon set passive points
  • How? Handed letter to Shambrin.

    • The Spiers of Deshar – Sisters of Garukhan Shrine

  • Buff: +10% lightning resistance
  • How? Explore the map and click on the sanctuary.

    Jungle Ruins – Mighty Silverfist

  • Buff: +2 weapon set passive points
  • How? Kill optional boss.

    • The Azak Bog – Ignagduk, The Bog Witch

    Normal difficulty:

  • Buff: +30 Will
  • How? Kill optional boss.

    • Cruel Difficulty Level:

  • Buff: +40 Will
  • How? Kill optional boss.

    • The Venom Crypts – Venom Draft

    Buff: Select 1 (Attention: The selection cannot be changed!)

    Normal difficulty:

  • +25% increased stun threshold
  • +30% increased elemental effect threshold
  • +25% increased mana regeneration

    • Cruel Difficulty Level:

  • +10% Chaos Resistance
  • +5 to all attributes
  • +15% reduced slow debuffs

    • How? Hand the poison vial to Servi

    Jiquani’s Machinarium – Blackjaw, the Remnant

  • Buff: +10% fire resistance
  • How? Kill optional boss. The symbol is on the underground map. Use a small soul core to open the room to the boss.

    • Aggorat – Blood Sacrifice

  • Buff: +2 weapon set passive points
  • How? Find the sacrificial heart as a monster drop in Aggorat and sacrifice it at the altar.
