Vy train is now canceling all departures north of Umeå due to the extreme cold.
There will also be no replacement traffic.
– Travelers can rebook or get their money back, says Vy Tåg’s business manager Christer Berglund.
All passenger traffic is suspended from Tuesday lunchtime to Thursday. It affects both Norrtåg and the night trains to Luleå and Narvik, which Vy operates.
The reason is temperatures below minus 35 degrees along the route.
– The forecasts we receive from SMHI say that the temperature will rise during the day Thursday, says Christer Berglund.
