January’s biggest blockbuster on Amazon Prime is without a doubt The Suicide Squad. Here, before James Gunn was appointed head of DC, he proved his knowledge of the universe and a brutal and touching superhero movie that comes up with one great scene after another.
Also recommended is the stirring drama The Nest. Directed by Martha Marcy May Marlene director Sean Durkin, the film takes us to an old English mansion and a expresses unpleasant marriage. Carrie Coon and Jude Law shine in the lead roles.
In terms of series, we’re particularly excited about German Crime Story: Bound. The one led by Oliver Masucci and Angelina Häntsch True crime series sounds a bit like the German Dahmer – Monster: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer and is about the search for the Hamburg acid barrel killer in the 1980s and 1990s.
