All new Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 classes in the ranking

Baldur’s Gate 3 with the upcoming Patch 8 will deliver a lot of new content again. Among them: 12 new subclasses. Meinmmo compares the new classes in the ranking.

What kind of new classes are these? The 12 new subclasses from Patch 8 are all existing classes from the standard regulation or official additional rules of dungeons & dragons-mainly from Taskas Kessel with everything and Xanathar’s guide for everything.

These are “specializations” of the existing classes. Each of the 12 classes receives a new sub-class and depending on the basis you choose the new options either when creating character or later when leveling.

So we ranked: The current ranking mainly refers to the assessments from the Meinmmo editorial team, in which several D&D nerds can be found that have been playing for many years. We have looked at reports from the current tests.

Patch 8 was accidentally published too early, but may be adjusted again by the official release. The list therefore reflects the current status.

12th place: Bard – School of the Magic Bann (“College of Glamor”)

Although bard is the best class in the game, the College of Glamor has almost no useful areas of application. In theory, it sounds cool to use the power of the fairies in order to be alive stories and to be able to play with the feelings. In practice, however, you are behind pretty much everything.

In terms of charisma, all other bards are just as good. Your unique selling point as magic spells are control and protective spells- which every other supporter can look much better. Our tip: Better plays a knowledge of knowledge and take a druid, cleric or paladin into the group.

11th place: Fighter – Arkan archer (“Arcane Archer”)

Fighters are the absolute all -rounders in Baldur’s Gate 3, such a kind of Swiss army knife in the classes. One of the reasons why fighters are the best class for beginners in Baldur’s Gate 3.

However, the arcane archer stands apart from the standard builds. Instead of strength and close combat, the archer relies on skill and ranged and magical arrows. So he is a ranger or villain, just worse. And rangers are only strong in absolute niches.

The only area of application of the Arcania archers: You have no other magic weaver in the group and don’t want to play a melee. For everything else, the advantages are limited to situations.

10th place: Magician – blade singing (“bladesinging”)

The classic case of: “Sounds cool does not work.” Blade singing magicians combine skillful fighters and magic wirers in one: are acrobatic, clever with melee weapons and can still work spells.

In fact, you are nothing half and nothing whole. Armamers have magicians with magic armor anyway, and your blade singing, through which you can really tear something in close combat, only loads up after a long rest.

If you really want to play a magic swar that is also useful in close combat, better plays a bard. They can sing better anyway. The only exception is if you lack an intelligence character.
