With Maxton Hall – The World Between Us, Amazon managed one of the series surprises of the year. The adaptation of Mona Kasten’s popular novel became the streamer’s most successful international series production ever and climbed to the top of the streaming charts in numerous countries – and that as a German project.
No wonder, then, that one 2nd season of the romantic drama with Damian Hardung and Harriet Herbig-Matten is already certain. You can read everything you need to know about the Amazon sequel here. The article is regularly updated on the following points:
When is Maxton Hall Season 2 coming to Amazon Prime?
Just two weeks after the first season of Maxton Hall started on Amazon Prime, the streamer gave all fans the all-clear: a second season is in the clear. Filming began in June 2024 at Marienburg Castle near Hanover after the building, which was actually closed for renovation, opened its doors again especially for the series. The shoot has now been completed.
If post-production goes smoothly, we could still see the second season of Maxton Hall Spring or summer 2025 Expect ‒ about a year after the first season started on Amazon.
Damian Hardung, Harriet Herbig-Matten and Co.: Who is part of the cast of Maxton Hall Season 2?
In addition to Damian Hardung and Harriet Herbig-Matten, many faces from the opening season will return in season 2. The following names have already been confirmed:
What is the plot of Maxton Hall season 2?
The first season of Maxton Hall is based on the novel Save Me * by Mona Kasten and covers it almost entirely. Season 2 will therefore focus on her follow-up novel Save You *. The first season, however, ended with a change from the book – and a cliffhanger.
After James returns home from the interview for Oxford University, he is caught a bitter blow of fate: His mother Cordelia died of a stroke. He lashes out at his father and rushes to Ruby for comfort. However, through the window of her house he sees her happy family sitting together. What will he do next?
Warning, possible spoilers for season 2 follow here: Kasten’s novel suggests a serious impulse action by James, who drowns his grief in alcohol and also cheats on Ruby by making out with another woman at a party. Heartbroken, Ruby then shoots James to the wind. However, he doesn’t give up and tries to win Ruby back. Spoiler end.
The official synopsis of the new season states:
Those who fly high can also fall low… After the night of love together in Oxford and her big life goal within reach, everything seems to be going perfectly for Ruby (Harriet Herbig-Matten). But a stroke of fate in James’ (Damian Hardung) family changes everything and, of all people, James himself brings them back from Cloud 9 to a harsh reality.
Ruby is devastated. She has never had such strong feelings for anyone as she does for James – and she has never been hurt like this by anyone. She wants her old life back, in which no one at Maxton Hall knew her and she wasn’t part of the elite world of her classmates. But she can’t forget James – especially since he’s doing everything he can to win her back.
Is there a trailer for Maxton Hall Season 2?
