The popular talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar was supposed to come to an end with the 2023 anniversary season, but a nice surprise followed for the fans of the show.
Search for Germany’s superstar is actually starting a new round, because the production decided to do a new season this year. In addition to a jury with familiar but also new faces, fans can expect some innovations.
Who is on this year’s DSDS jury?
After
Dieter Bohlen was briefly eliminated as the face of the show in 2022, he was allowed to sit at the jury desk again in the anniversary season. And this year, too, viewers will not have to do without the DSDS veteran. In addition to Bohlen, Peter Lombardi hand out the recall slips. The 2011 winner is already very familiar with this role. For Lombardi, this is already the fourth time as a juror.

This has never happened before on DSDS: Anyone can take part!
Until now, there was an age limit for participating in DSDS. Applicants had to be between 16 and 30 years old. This year, there is no upper age limit and so older singing talents show what they can do. This is something that juror Pietro Lombardi particularly likes, as he revealed to RTL:
Already on the first day of filming I can say: This is going to be a very special season. Finally there is no longer an age limit. Today there were a few older candidates who really gave it their all and really delivered.
The location of this year’s jury castings in April and May was also a very special one: In Europa-Park in Rust, the jury watched the singing talents of the new season.
When and where can you watch the 21st season of DSDS?
Filming for the jury castings has been finished since May. It is not yet known when exactly the new season will be broadcast. However, fans will probably from autumn onwards a total of 15 new episodes on RTL and RTL+.
