Melodifestivalen 2024 starts on February 3. The tour starts with a partial competition in Malmö and then goes to Gothenburg, Växjö, Eskilstuna and Karlstad before the grand final is held in the Friends Arena in Stockholm on March 9.
Melodifestivalen 2024 will differ from previous years in several ways. Here are all the changes.
Only one presenter
In 2024, Melodifestivalen will only be led by one presenter. More particularly Carina Berg. Melodifestivalen has for several years been in the habit of having several presenters.
According to The evening paper will she be joined by Björn Gustafsson as his sidekick. Gustafsson made a success of Melodifestivalen 2008 when he entered with the comedy song “Love song to Carina Berg”.

The semi-final is cancelled
Melodifestivalen usually has four sub-competitions and then has a semi-final before the grand final. But now the semi-finals are scrapped. Instead, we will see a fifth sub-competition that will take place in Karlstad.

The start bar expands
This year, the starting field will be expanded to 30 participants. In previous years, the competition has consisted of four sub-competitions with seven competitors per sub-competition. This year there will be a fifth sub-competition and six competitors per sub-competition. The starting field is thus expanded by two competitors compared to last year.
Two of this year’s participants who have caught a bit more attention are the Hollywood wife Gunilla Persson and the EPA dunk queen Miss Snusk.

– We will have lots of participants in different types of roles. We will change the program a little, with new elements here and there, he says The Express.
