Arja Saijonmaa is a Finnish artist who has also become popular in Sweden. She has managed to do one thing or another in her life, including as an actor, writer and that she has participated in several television programs such as Melodifestivalen and Let’s Dance.

Arja Saijonmaa songs – what are her famous hits?
Arja Saijonmaa has a long career and broke through already in the 70s. She had then met the Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis and got to accompany him on his world tour as an artist.
Some of her biggest hits are “I want to thank life” and “High above the sea”.
Arja Saijonmaa Melodifestivalen – has she won?
She has competed in the Melodifestivalen three times, in 1987 with “High above the sea”, in 2005 with “Whatever you thought, you thought wrong” and in 2019 with “My four seasons”.
Arja Saijonmaa’s best finish in Mello was her debut year in 1987 when she took second place.
She has also participated in the Finnish equivalent of Melodifestival, it was in 1971 with the song “Talvilintu”, writes Family life.

Is Arja Saijonmaas married?
For 15 years, she was together with the producer and director Larl Egler, who, among other things, works at Sveriges Radio and SVT, but that relationship did not last. There is no information that they were married.
Egler died in 1992, he was 57 years old.
Arja Saijonmaa partner – has she met someone new?
Since then, she has focused more on her career than her love life. But lately she has started to open up to romances.
– Now I think it might be time to look in that direction. Having a partner or some love story or something like that exciting, she said in 2015 in the podcast “The wheel of life“.
But so far Arja is not in a relationship.
– Love relationships have come and gone, but right now I’m a single woman, she tells Femina.
Does Arja Saijonmaa have children?
Arja Saijonmaa has no children of her own, but she spends a lot of time with her nephew.
– I have a large network after all the travels in different parts of the world and have good friends and my family in Finland. My sister is there and her son Antti, who is also my son. He is married and has two wonderful children that I love, she tells Femina.

Arja Saijonmaa 2024 – what is she doing today?
Now Arja Saijonmaa is current in TV4’s So much better where she has to interpret other artists’ songs and they have to interpret hers.
In an interview with The evening paper she tells us that she did not know any of the other participants before the recording.
The program was recorded during the summer of 2024 and premieres on Friday, October 4.
