Alexandra Pascalidou’s mother and father are Greek. Alexandra was born in a laundry in Bucharest, Romania. On her website, Pascalidou herself has written that she grew up with her grandmother Sophia in a Greek mountain village. When Alexandra was six years old, the family emigrated to Sweden, and they ended up in the Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby.
In her texts, she has several times described how she grew up in a family where there was both violence and abuse, when the father drank alcohol and could beat Alexandra.

In an interview in 2023, Alexandra told me that she was single, and today she is not in a relationship with another person in her apartment in Östermalm.
