Next week starts I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here! at RTL. And finally everything is the same again. In 2021, the show was completely canceled apart from a sluggish replacement. In 2022 it took place in South Africa. This year we are returning to Australia. Of course, the cast is more important than the location. One good compiled candidate: inside field provides the basis for entertaining IBES days.
We checked the participants of the jungle camp 2023. You will find out where you are from Martin Semmelrogge and Co. might know. We also assess the potential for riots. Who has a short fuse? Who likes to light short fuses? Who overestimates themselves and above all their degree of fame? Who is brought back down to earth from the jungle and the stark reality of reality. You can find out in our riot ranking.
When does I’m a star, get me out of here?
The jungle camp 2023 starts on Friday, January 13 at 9:30 p.m. on RTL. This time, the broadcaster postponed the finale a little. The celebrities have to stay in the camp for a day longer, because the jungle camp runs until Sunday, January 29, 2023. You can stream the episodes at any time on RTL + *.
These are the 12 participants at a glance – who freaks out first?
Dispute ranking 1st place: Jungle camp participant Tessa Bergmeier
Recommended Editorial Content
At this point you will find external content from Instagram, which complements the article. You can show it and hide it again with one click.
age: 33
conflict potential: Immense. At least if we are to believe the reputation that precedes it. Because Tessa Bergmeier bears the stamp of the “bitch”, which should not be missing in any IBES relay. Strictly speaking, she has been wearing it since she took part in GNTM 14 years ago. The following announcement by the “jungle vegan” (Abendzeitung) also brings back memories of the legendary appearance of Larissa Marolt, who refused an exam drinking champagne in 2014: “I used to think that if I can’t eat the animals there, I don’t need to go into the jungle. It’s fine with me now and I feel mature enough not to bring stars to camp if I don’t want to eat something.” Bergmeier should have secured the first 6 tests with this. Hunger in the camp: There is no better fire accelerant.
Dispute ranking 2nd place:
Jungle camp participant Verena Kerth
Recommended Editorial Content
At this point you will find external content from Instagram, which complements the article. You can show it and hide it again with one click.
age: 41
conflict potential: Immense. The moderator and ex-girlfriend of Oliver Kahn goes to the camp with a lot of steam. She is bothered by Tessa Bergmeier’s announcement that she will refuse food tests because of her veganism, see above.
“I will still have my joy with Tessa. I don’t know her personally yet, but I might have to settle an ax with her. I like team players and fair competition.”
Like a Wednesday film on ARD, the jungle camp breaks down very real, current cultural struggles to the simplest levels of conflict.
Dispute ranking 3rd place:
Jungle camp participant Lucas Cordalis
Recommended Editorial Content
At this point you will find external content from Instagram, which complements the article. You can show it and hide it again with one click.
age: 55
conflict potential: High. There is no concrete evidence to believe that Lucas Cordalis could jump out of his skin. None, except for good, solid jungle experience. Because nobody has as much to lose as Cordalis: He goes to the camp with a pore-deep clean image. He is the son of the first jungle king Costa Cordalis, the brother-in-law of the jungle queen 2018 Jenny Frankhauser, husband of Germany’s favorite Daniela Katzenberger and also a hit star. Cordalis can follow the sinister path of Jay Khan or the triumphant path of Marc Terenzi.
Dispute ranking 4th place:
Jungle camp participant
ORIGINAL POWER Jana Pallaske
Recommended Editorial Content
At this point you will find external content from Instagram, which complements the article. You can show it and hide it again with one click.
age: 43
conflict potential: Gigantic. URKRAFT Jana Pallaske (explanation of the name follows) is a godsend for the reality industry. She is a real movie star, she has acted in one of the most successful comedy trilogies in German history (Fack ju Göhte) and very briefly in Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds. Some of that was only a few years ago. And yet the esoterically touched by a hurricane Pallaske has recently been floating through the biggest reality shows in the country – most recently the summer house of the stars, where she got on the residents’ minds with her “eso tick”. A great qualification for IBES. Oh yes, URKRAFT recently called itself Pallaske because: “The jungle has given me so much. I come from the jungle for the jungle. With all my love and elemental power. And that’s why my name is now Jana URKRAFT”.
Dispute ranking 5th place:
Jungle camp participant Martin Semmelrogge
age: 67
conflict potential: Medium high. Martin Semmelrogge is a real star with real career entries on Wikipedia and Moviepilot. He has acted in Das Boot and Schindler’s List. In the camp he now has to deal with figures beneath his dignity, such as Gigi Berufsio (explanation follows) and Tessa Bergmeier. In the past (see Mathieu Carrière), this reality check has reliably led to conflicts. The problem: Semmelrogge has already taken this step into the trash mud: He was in the summer house of the stars and, even worse, in Die Passion.
Dispute ranking 6th place:
Jungle camp participant Cosimo Citiolo
Recommended Editorial Content
At this point you will find external content from Instagram, which complements the article. You can show it and hide it again with one click.
age:
41
conflict potential: Medium high. The walking, tattooed, tanned reality chav cliché is entertaining for audiences, as Summer House recently showed. But we experience the DSDS legend Cosimo Citiolo only one to two hours a day. Residents with possibly shorter fuses like Martin Semmelrogge, Verena Kerth or Lucas Cordalis (see above) have to spend the whole day with this mannered eccentric. Cosimo Citiolo will be the hardest jungle test for many.
Dispute ranking 7th place:
Jungle camp participant Gigi Birofio
Recommended Editorial Content
At this point you will find external content from Instagram, which complements the article. You can show it and hide it again with one click.
age:
23
conflict potential: Medium-sized. Gigi is the obligatory macho participant from the dating reality cosmos (Temptation Island VIP, Ex on the Beach) and thus something like the light version of Cosimo Citiolo. RTL says: “Gigi also doesn’t let it burn between people and likes to get very close to his female colleagues.” For Temptation Island, this behavior may be desirable. In the camp, it puts a strain on the residents’ nerves and limits of tolerance.
Dispute ranking 8th place:
Jungle camp participant: Claudia Effenberg
Recommended Editorial Content
At this point you will find external content from Instagram, which complements the article. You can show it and hide it again with one click.
age:
57
conflict potential: Low. Claudia Effenberg could “imagine being Mother Theresa in the camp”, she says on RTL. In the jungle camp, this classic type of mom tends to be more modest than to heat it up – and traditionally has almost as much chance of winning as “Das Dummchen” (Joey Heindle). It is not to be expected that Effenberg will fall out of character: she once came second at Celebrity Big Brother, won the celebrity dinner and survived a legendary relationship drama at FC Bayern unscathed.
Dispute ranking 9th place:
Jungle camp participant: Cecilia Asoro
Recommended Editorial Content
At this point you will find external content from Instagram, which complements the article. You can show it and hide it again with one click.
age:
26
conflict potential: Low. The ex-participant from GNTM, The Bachelor and Prominent Separated (among other things) rattled off a number of jungle clichés in advance: she wants to show herself as she is, she wants to get the crown and she announced herself “don’t hide while showering” to want. This all seems too formulaic to get really exciting.
Dispute ranking 10th place:
Jungle camp participant: Jolina Mennen
Recommended Editorial Content
At this point you will find external content from Instagram, which complements the article. You can show it and hide it again with one click.
age:
30
conflict potential: Barely available. Jolina Mennen is one of the least known candidates in the camp and is probably just happy to be there. The announcement of the high diving runners-up and influencer doesn’t sound really combative: “I have nothing to hide. If you don’t like me, you don’t like me.”
Dispute Ranking 11th:
Jungle camp participant: Markus Mörl
age:
63
conflict potential: Barely available. In an interview, the Neue Deutsche Welle star (I want fun) sounds like the jungle type “flatbed”. He has prepared for the jungle exams and if something doesn’t suit him, what the other stars say, then it’s okay “in there and out there again”. barren.
Dispute Ranking 12th:
Jungle camp participants: Papis Loveday
Recommended Editorial Content
At this point you will find external content from Instagram, which complements the article. You can show it and hide it again with one click.
age:
45
conflict potential: Hard to say. Papis Loveday is at home on the catwalks of the world and has already trained the candidates in GNTM. He was also part of Celebrity Big Brother in 2021. Nevertheless, he is probably the most glamorous character of the new IBES season. RTL tries to put him in the “eccentric” bird of paradise drawer. In the preparatory appearances, however, he comes across as calm, personable – and strategic. He definitely wants to use the jungle camp as a stage and kickstarter for a TV career. The question is how.All candidates at a glance
Who is the new presenter next to Sonja Zietlow?
For the first time, Jan Köppen (Ninja Warrior) will moderate the cockroach show alongside IBES veteran Sonja Zietlow. Longtime host Daniel Hartwich announced his departure last January.
