Alisa Vainio ran her best time of the year

Alisa Vainio, the reigning Finnish champion of the women’s 10,000-meter run and half-marathon, won the half-marathon in her hometown on Saturday, 1.11.15.

Alisa Vainio’s time on November 1, 2015 was 35 seconds faster than Vainio’s time at the European Championships in Rome in June.

Vainio, representing Lappeenranta’s Urheilu-Miehii, set a record last year on 1.10.20, which was run on the Seville half-marathon route, which is known to be very fast.

The men’s half-marathon was won by Vainio’s teammate Julius Taskinen with a time of 1:07:51 just a week after he had won the Paavo Nurmi half-marathon in Turku with a time of 1:08:20.

Taskinen rose to the top of domestic road runners in the spring of this year, when he finished third in the half-marathon championships with a time of 1:07:43.
