Alice Diop France all the way

The director Alice Diop begins with her documentary “We”, a long journey on line B of the RER. With her camera, through encounters, she explores a France with a thousand facets. She draws the portrait of a plural French society, rich in its differences.

RER B is one of the busiest lines of the rail network in the Paris metropolitan area. It connects the very bourgeois Vallée de Chevreuse to the popular districts of Seine-Saint-Denis, such as those of Aulnay-sous-Bois.

This is where the director Alice Diop was born, in the heart of the City of 3,000. Since she became a filmmaker, she has never stopped telling the story of her childhood from the perspective of men and women.

Her film “Vers la tendresse” received the César for best short film in 2017. We already took the RER B there with her. While waiting for her first fiction feature, her latest documentary was twice awarded at the last Berlin.

An exploration of today’s France through the daily lives of those who live along this famous RER B line.

“We”, Alice Diop’s new film, will be released next Wednesday, February 16 on French screens.
