Algerian Kaylia Nemour crowned Olympic champion on uneven bars

Algerian gymnast Kaylia Nemour won the Olympic title on uneven bars this Sunday, August 4 at the Arena Bercy. At 17, she becomes the first African gymnast to win gold at the Olympic Games in artistic gymnastics, for both men and women.

The young athlete, vice-world champion and who trains in France, beat the Chinese Qiu Qiyuan, 17, and the American Sunisa Lee, 21. The Belgian Nina Derwael, 24, lost her title and finished just off the podium.
