The French and Algerian presidents spoke by phone this Monday, March 31. According to the joint press release, Emmanuel Macron and Abdelmadjid Tebboune had a “long exchange, frank and friendly”, enough to revive the bilateral relationship in a peaceful way, after more than six months of crisis between Algiers and Paris. The press release does not mention Western Sahara, at the origin of this crisis, but Paris and Algiers display their desire to resume cooperation.
