The Frenchman is involved this Friday, August 2, and could obtain a surprise medal.

This Friday, the 3m synchronized event of Alexis Jandard and Jules Bouyer could bring a nice surprise. European champions in June, the duo is aiming for a medal at the Olympic Games. But remember last April, in the middle of a demonstration at the Olympic Aquatic Center, Alexis Jandard felt his leg weaken at the moment of his jump and the 27-year-old diver slipped, bounced on the board and fell awkwardly into the water, under the eyes of the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron.

Although he was initially mocked on social media, his self-mockery made him a star that people have now come to know. That same day, Alexis Jandard shared a photo of his bloody back on Instagram, which he captioned with “I slipped, boss.”

Alexis Jandard is not a novice, however, he will indeed experience his second Olympic Games, after those of Tokyo in 2021. He finished 16th in the 3m springboard individually. Aged 27, the athlete practiced gymnastics, within the Cascol Gym (from 2007 to 2012) before being refused the French pole. “Today, I only do acrobatics. Finally, I perhaps find myself a little more there, even if gymnastics remains my heart discipline. It allowed me to build myself as I am now” he explained for L’Equipe.
