Navalny’s spokesman also writes in his social media update that funeral arrangements cannot be announced for the time being.
– We don’t know if the authorities are bothering them [hautajaisten] arrangements and whether they will allow Aleksei to be buried the way the family wants and as it deserves. We will inform as soon as we get more information, JarmyÅ¡ writes.
Navalnyi died last Friday in the IK-6 prison in Harp, Siberia.
Navalny’s mother has said that she wants a public funeral and a memorial service for her son.

Yesterday, Friday, the Russian authorities threatened to bury the opposition politician Navalny on the territory of the IK-3 prison in Harp, Siberia.
According to JarmyÅ¡, the prison authority called Navalny’s mother and presented her with an ultimatum.
Lyudmila Navalnaya was told that she should agree to a secret funeral within three hours.
According to the spokesman, Navalny’s mother refused to agree to a secret funeral and demanded on Friday that charges be brought against Salehard’s investigative authorities, Russian media Meduza reports.
Navalny’s mother appealed to the law, according to which relatives decide when and where the deceased is buried.
Several Russian musicians, actors, writers and other public figures appealed this week in social media petitions demanding the handover of Alexei Navalny’s body to his mother.
