The attack took place on Tuesday outside Leonid Volkov’s apartment in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.

Jarmysh tells the X-message service that the attack took place outside Volkov’s apartment.
– Someone broke the window of his car and sprayed tear gas in his eyes, after which the attacker started beating Volkov with a hammer, says Jarmysh.
Navalny’s supporters published pictures of Volkov after the beating. In the pictures, the man’s face and leg are bleeding and his face is bruised. Volkov has been transported to the hospital.
The Lithuanian police say they have received information about the assault of a Russian man and are investigating the matter.
Foreign Minister of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis said that the information about the attack is “shocking” and that the perpetrators will be held accountable for their crimes.
Volkov served as chairman of the FBK foundation founded by Navalny until last year. He recently called on people to participate in the largest number of demonstrations in Russia on the day of the presidential election next Sunday.
Volkov supported Navalny’s election campaign as he ran for mayor of Moscow. He has worked in IT positions and was involved in local politics in his hometown of Yekaterinburg.
