The Norwegian hockey player Alexander Reichenberg is dead, reports among others TV2.
He was 31 years old.
“Rest in peace, No. 61,” writes his parent club Lillehammer in a statement.
The last eleven seasons he has played for the Norwegian club Lillehammer. But he has also played for both Oskarshamn and Färjestad in the SHL.
But now the parent club announces that Alexander Reichenberg, who is described as one of the club’s greatest profiles of all time, is dead.
“It is with great sadness that Lillehammer Ice Hockey Club today received the news of Alexander Reichenberg’s passing. It is incredibly sad to think that he will never hear the tactful cheers of the crowd in the Eidsiva Arena and that we who sat in the stands will not get to see the player with the big smile, the extra feint or the hard shot again,” writes Lillehammer in a statement.
The cause of death is still unclear.
