Alexander Isak: "Would have probably run free"

The referee chose to content himself with blowing a free kick and giving the Austrian defender Stefan Posch a yellow card.

Possibly he could have received a red.

Isak protested wildly, but was not heard. Instead, Alexander Schlager saved the free kick from Emil Forsberg.

Afterwards, Isak did not attach much importance to the incident. He stated instead that the national team is currently not enough.

— What can you say, we just have to start winning games. As it stands now, we cannot afford to lose any more.

— We lost again and regardless of how it looks, it’s unimportant. If you want to advance from the qualifiers, you just have to score points and it got tougher after today.

Is there a chance to reach the EC?

— Of course it’s alive, but it doesn’t look as bright anymore.

— Now it was the last game of the season. We get to be disappointed, then we get to disconnect and when the time comes again we can hopefully do better.

What can you do better?

— Most of it. We need to get the game where we want it. Control the game a little more and have the ball more. There will be a little too much gambling.
