Only one bogey has cost Alex Norén after three rounds played at the PGA tour competition in Bermuda.
This has put the Swede in the sole lead ahead of Sunday’s finish.
The 41-year-old has followed up Thursday’s impressive 61, Norén’s lowest round on the PGA Tour, with two bogey-free rounds.
Last Friday there were 66 strokes and on Saturday there were 67, four under par.
Norén thus leads with a total of -19, one stroke ahead of Colombian Camilo Villegas and two ahead of Matti Schmid (Germany) and Ryan Moore (USA).
During Saturday, it was the Swede’s close game in particular that impressed. Norén offered two delicacies at the end where he hit a short chip that led to birdie on the par 5 17th hole and then saved par on the last with a longer pitch shot.
Alex Norén has won ten times on the European Tour but never on the US equivalent. His best result is a loss in special games in 2018.
David Lingmerth slipped down the leaderboard after going four shots over par. He is now tied for 75th.
